In the course of the nationwide Girl’s Day, five young women had the possibility to have a first look into the world of professional work at the MC. The most interest was directed towards the IT department and the laboratories. With their personal protective equipment the young women accomplished trials or created their own small industrial flooring.
The Girl’s Day is supported by the Federal Government and the European Union. The intention of this day is, to give a first impression of technical professions, especially to young girls. Due to the demographical development here is a lack of qualified new recruits. With this day the spectrum of possibilities for the career choice of young women should be enlarged.
Meanwhile the Girl’s day took place in Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Maybe we can welcome one or the other young lady at MC in the future - but then not only for a single day.
