Looking back one can say that with the construction of the new Police Headquarters a major project has been realized, which sets standards with respect to the result as well as to the construction schedule.
The on-schedule delivery of the building by the renowned Anton Schick GmbH & Co. from Bad Kissingen was made possible by an intelligent combination of technical detailed solutions and perfect logistics, instead of – as often observed – being bought by diminished quality and accepted safety risks. On the contrary: This was a “Safety and Health Protection” construction site in accordance with the most recent EU-guidelines and constantly supervised by a safety coordinator.
Some facts to illustrate the dimensions of the project Volume:
70 million Euros; 535,000 m3 interior space, 140,000 m² total ceiling expanse, 90,000 m³ of concrete used, 13,000 tons of steel used, 800 construction workers employed during project.
As a longtime partner of the Anton Schick GmbH & Co., MC-Bauchemie was able to contribute to the successful completion of this ambitious building project from the beginning. The construction of the precast ceiling-areas, among other examples, shows that it always pays off for a builder-owner to invest in quality, expertise and consultation. 67,000 m² were made in the form of low-porosity semi-precast elements, the butt joints of which were closed levelly with the high-quality cosmetic filler Emcefix G and F. A prepared test surface had convinced the builder-owner of the MC-product.
The result of the joint filling, with regard to colour- and structure-matching the pre-cast elements, was so convincing that the usual subsequent gypsum plastering became unnecessary. This omission of an entire work-phase resulted not only in financial savings, it also saved time; depending on the weather the plaster may take weeks before it is dry enough to start with paintwork.
