New rheology-regulating agent Murasan Hydrotech 802

Feb 11, 2021

In Murasan Hydrotech 802, MC-Bauchemie has launched a new rheology-regulating agent for the production of goods made from semi-dry concrete. The admixture increases the robustness of the concrete when exposed to fluctuations in water content, and ensures excellent green stability, even at higher water contents. This leads to faster production output rates plus, under certain conditions, an improved degree of hydration of the cement, and thus higher compressive strengths.

The term “green stability” refers to the cohesive strength of the concrete immediately after compaction. Good green stability means the mould or formwork can be removed from the freshly moulded concrete without the latter changing its geometric shape. This property plays a major role in the production of certain precast concrete elements that need to be demoulded or stripped immediately after the concrete has been placed and compacted. For manufacturers of concrete goods, green stability goes hand-in-hand with production speed. In the effort to achieve ideal green stability and thus maximise output rates, the water-to-cement ratio of semi-dry concrete may in practice occasionally fall below the value required for the hydration of all cement grains present. When this occurs, cement becomes nothing more than an expensive filler.

Achieving faster and more consistent production output and improved further processing with Murasan Hydrotech 802

Murasan Hydrotech 802, the new rheology-regulating admixture from MC-Bauchemie for semi-dry concrete, ensures that this phenomenon is minimised, thus also leading to material savings. And this novel admixture from MC-Bauchemie can also be used to achieve faster and more consistent production output rates together with better further processing. Murasan Hydrotech 802 increases the robustness of concrete against water fluctuations, provides for faster strength development and better compactability, creates a denser microstructure in semi-dry concrete, and leads to an improved degree of hydration of the cement. This also enables manufacturers of concrete goods to offer longer product durability as well as a more attractive appearance in their paving stones, slabs, kerbstones, etc. with better defined shapes and edges, as well as more vibrant and uniform colours.
