The establishment of MC-Bauchemie Paraguay marks the next stage in the long-standing cooperation between MC-Bauchemie and Plastizil S.A., a renowned Paraguayan construction technology company with more than five decades of experience. Plastizil specialises in post-tensioned concrete, industrial flooring, waterproofing systems, and the distribution and application of premium construction materials, including MC products.

From distribution partner to direct market presence

Through the new joint venture, MC-Bauchemie is transitioning from a distribution-based model to a direct presence in Paraguay. This will enable the company to offer a broader portfolio, provide more comprehensive technical support, and work more closely with customers at every stage of their projects.

“Establishing MC-Bauchemie Paraguay is an important step in our Latin American growth strategy,” says Jaques Pinto, MC-Bauchemie’s Regional Director for Latin America. “By combining MC’s international technology and expertise with the experience and strong market network of our local partners, we are creating a solid foundation for sustainable growth and closer customer support in Paraguay.”

Strong prospects in a growing construction market

Paraguay offers attractive growth prospects, driven by economic stability, expanding infrastructure, urbanisation, and increasing industrial investment. “Construction has become one of the key drivers of the Paraguayan economy,” explains Jaques Pinto, adding: “Growth is being supported by public infrastructure projects, private real estate developments, industrial investments, and the growing needs associated with urbanisation, logistics, and connectivity. MC-Bauchemie Paraguay is therefore well positioned to support the market as a technology partner, providing durable, efficient, high-quality, and sustainable construction solutions.”

Local infrastructure and experienced leadership

MC-Bauchemie Paraguay began operations with an existing local infrastructure for warehousing, production, and laboratory activities, as well as a dedicated local team. The facilities provided by Plastizil as part of the joint venture ensure product availability, logistics capacity, technical support, and quality control from the outset.

Gabriel Zillich (46) will lead MC-Bauchemie Paraguay as General Manager. He brings more than 17 years of experience in commercial leadership, business development, and corporate strategy within the construction industry. As Commercial Director of Plastizil, he played a key role in expanding the company’s market position, developing new business areas, and establishing the strategic partnership with MC-Bauchemie. Since 2019, he has overseen the introduction and representation of MC-Bauchemie in Paraguay. Gabriel Zillich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Innovation Management.

Luis Zillich (71) has been appointed Director of MC-Bauchemie Paraguay. With more than 45 years of experience, he is a highly regarded figure in Paraguay’s construction industry. As General Director of Plastizil, he contributed significantly to the company’s growth and to the introduction of innovative technologies and high-performance construction solutions in the local market. His expertise in civil engineering, concrete technology, construction systems, and strategic leadership will support the long-term development of MC-Bauchemie Paraguay. Luis Zillich is a Civil Engineer and Postgraduate Lecturer.

MC-Bauchemie Paraguay forms part of the MC LATAM region under the regional leadership of MC-Bauchemie Brazil. The local management team reports to Jaques Pinto.“Our direct presence will allow us to support customers much more closely – from identifying a technical requirement and specifying the appropriate system through to application support and on-site follow-up,” says General Manager Gabriel Zillich. “Our objective is to become a leading technology partner for the Paraguayan construction industry.”

Broad portfolio and comprehensive solutions for construction and industry

The company will initially focus on the building construction market, where its local partners already have strong customer relationships and market experience. Infrastructure, industrial construction, and the concrete industry will form additional strategic areas of activity.

MC-Bauchemie Paraguay will offer solutions for new construction as well as for the maintenance, repair, and performance improvement of existing structures. Its initial portfolio includes waterproofing systems, concrete repair solutions, concrete admixtures, industrial flooring systems, and other technical solutions for building, infrastructure, and industrial construction projects.

MC-Bauchemie's successful expansion in South America

MC-Bauchemie entered South America at the beginning of the millennium, establishing a company in Brazil more than 20 years ago. Since then, the Brazilian operation has developed successfully and now employs more than 350 people at three locations. In the last ten years, further companies have been established in Chile, Bolivia, Peru, and partnerships in Colombia and Uruguay. With the establishment of MC-Bauchemie Paraguay S.A., MC-Bauchemie is now represented with its own companies in almost all major South American countries.
