MC-Bauchemie strengthens its presence in Central Asia

Central Asia is becoming increasingly important for international construction and building materials companies. Rapid urbanisation, infrastructure investment, industrial diversification and sustained economic growth are driving demand for innovative construction technologies. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, with a combined population of almost 60 million people, are at the forefront of this development. 

Uzbekistan: new company established in Tashkent 

As part of its continued expansion in Central Asia, MC-Bauchemie has intensified its focus on Uzbekistan, a country undergoing significant economic transformation and one of the fastest-growing markets in the region. On 28 April 2026, the company officially established MC-Bauchemie Uzbekistan in Tashkent. 

With a population approaching 40 million people and a rapidly expanding construction sector, Uzbekistan offers strong prospects for long-term business development. Investments in residential construction, industrial facilities, transport infrastructure and urban development continue to drive demand for advanced construction solutions throughout the country.

MC-Bauchemie Uzbekistan is focused on developing all three strategic business segments of the Group. The company has already started activities in Building Distribution, is involved in concrete technology projects within the Concrete Industry segment and plans further investments in Infrastructure & Industry solutions. The company is headquartered in Tashkent, where a local team of technical and commercial specialists is currently being established. 

Maksim Kirin appointed Managing Director of MC-Bauchemie Uzbekistan 

Maksim Kirin (45) has been appointed Managing Director of MC-Bauchemie Uzbekistan. He brings extensive experience from international companies in the construction materials and building solutions industry. Throughout his career, Kirin has built strong expertise in sales management, market development and business expansion across construction-related sectors. His industry knowledge and leadership experience will support MC-Bauchemie’s growth plans in Uzbekistan and throughout Central Asia. 

Looking ahead, MC-Bauchemie plans to invest in local production capacities in Uzbekistan and aims to establish a high-level concrete technology competence centre in Tashkent. In the long term, the centre is expected to support not only Uzbekistan but also the wider Central Asian region with technical expertise, product development and customer support. 

Kazakhstan: established presence and plans for local production 

MC-Bauchemie began its Central Asian expansion with the establishment of MC-Bauchemie Kazakhstan on 27 March 2023. After a successful start-up phase, the company began operational activities in the second half of 2023 and has since developed a growing market presence across the country. Kazakhstan, the world’s ninth-largest country by land area and the largest economy in Central Asia, offers significant potential in infrastructure, industrial construction and concrete technology. MC-Bauchemie Kazakhstan serves customers throughout the country, with its team strategically located in Astana and Almaty, the country’s two major economic centres. The company is currently developing its business in the Concrete Industry and Building Distribution segments, while preparing for the future expansion of its Infrastructure & Industry activities. 

As a next step, MC-Bauchemie is preparing a strategic investment in local production. From July 2026, the company plans to begin implementing a project for the local manufacture of concrete admixtures. The objective is to establish a broad local production portfolio by mid-2027, enabling closer customer support and products tailored to the requirements of the Kazakh market. 

Ivan Shulgin continues to lead MC-Bauchemie Kazakhstan 

MC-Bauchemie Kazakhstan is led by Managing Director Ivan Shulgin (42). He has been with MC-Bauchemie for more than 20 years and has held various management and business development positions across the Group. 

Since taking responsibility for the Kazakhstan business in 2023, Shulgin has led the company’s market development and established a strong foundation for further growth. Together with his team, he will continue to drive MC-Bauchemie’s growth strategy in one of Central Asia’s most important construction markets.

With the establishment of new companies in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, MC-Bauchemie is continuing to pursue its international growth strategy and strengthen its local presence in key emerging markets. 

The investments underline the strategic importance of Central Asia as a developing economic region and create the basis for closer cooperation with customers, partners and infrastructure projects across Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and neighbouring markets. At the same time, MC-Bauchemie is expanding local technical expertise and laying the foundation for future production and innovation activities in one of the world’s most promising emerging construction markets.
