MAIN FEATURE: Waterproofing – MC’s all-rounder in demand worldwide
Moisture and water can severely affect buildings over the years and lead to damage and deterioration if they are not properly protected. However, there are ways to protect against this. We offer a wide range of effective solutions in the field of structural waterproofing, out of which we present two of our star products in our current cover story of our MC aktiv: the MC-Plan 307 SD waterproofing and decoupling sheet membrane and the MC-Proof DF 8 acrylic based waterproofing dispersion. Both products offer a lot of advantages and a wide range of application possibilities that enrich the waterproofing of structures.
BIG PICTURE: The wooden facade of Wilnsdorf motorway church protected with MC's special resin
The Wilnsdorf motorway church in Siegerland, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), consists of a wooden structure whose outer façade was clad with OSB panels and originally coated with a reaction resin. However, after only ten years, the coating showed signs of leakage, which caused parts of the wooden construction to swell and rot. To ensure the long-term use of the church, a quick solution was needed and a coating with the crack-bridging special resin

INNOVATIONS & INSPIRATIONS from MC
As usual, we also present new products and technologies in our current MC aktiv. For example, the first 3D-printed modular building made of cement-free concrete that has been built in Beckum, Westphalia (Germany), in July 2023, using MC's geopolymer concrete.
In our INSPIRATION section, we present a whole range of repair systems that can be used to sustainably strengthen older structures and building components and thus make them more earthquake resistant.
BEST PRACTICE: Projects, projects, projects
In the BEST PRACTICE section, we once again offer you an interesting selection of current projects: from the MUT office and shopping complex in Santiago de Chile to the International Airport Iași, Romania, and the repair of a railway tunnel in Sweden to the floor coating of the Porsche world of experience "fahr(T)raum" and the construction of the most modern power plant in Poland.
SUSTAINABILITY
In the sustainability section, we report on the new Ortolan Bio 800 concrete release agent family, which is based on renewable raw materials and impresses not only with excellent technical properties but also with particularly environmentally friendly properties.
As usual, we round off our issue with internal topics, portraits and personnel news.
