Between January 2024 and January 2025, the warehouse and production area at hebro®chemie in Mönchengladbach was refurbished. The work was carried out whilst operations continued and involved the refurbishment of floors. MC-Bauchemie’s tried-and-tested products provided the solution to the project’s demanding requirements.

A particular challenge was to carry out the renovation measures without interrupting ongoing production operations. It was necessary to meet the technical requirements exactly, such as the required crack bridging classes, as well as to adhere to the tight schedule. The careful selection of suitable products and solutions was of central importance in order to meet the specific requirements of the chemical plant. As a provider of a complete system in the field of German Technical Rules for Substances Hazardous to Water AwSV systems, MC's water protection systems offered the solution. "Thanks to intensive coordination with our contact person at MC, the processing company and Marc Achterberg from IMA Moers as a qualified planner in accordance with AwSV, we were able to carry out the renovation during ongoing operation in compliance with all requirements," says Heiko Galow, plant manager at hebro®chemie.
First, the old underground was removed and the area levelled with the two PCC I mortars Nafufill KM 130 and Nafufill KM 180 from MC. The two mortars are resistant to frost de-icing salt, chloride-tight and have a high carbonation resistance. MC-DUR 1900 plus was applied to it. The chemical-resistant, crack-bridging coating according to German Water Resources Act WHG, impresses with its very good wear resistance and high crack bridging of 0.4 mm.
To create sufficient slip resistance, the surface was also reworked with the matt, dissipative polyurethane sealant MC-DUR 2095 ESD. In this way, surface hygiene has been further optimised and at the same time safe access to the area has been ensured. The Mycoflex Resyst system from MC was used as the joint solution. Due to its high chemical and temperature resistance, it is ideally suited for remediation at hebro®chemie.
The construction project was completed at the start of 2025. The renovation of the production area at Hebro®Chemie demonstrates how well-thought-out solutions and tried-and-tested products can facilitate sophisticated repairs during ongoing operations.
