In September 2025, the City of Oradea commissioned a key infrastructure project: the new multi-storey car park at the County Hospital. The new building significantly improves access to the medical facilities and provides urgently needed parking capacity in the immediate vicinity of the emergency department. Long-term protection of the traffic lanes and parking spaces is ensured by a car park coating system from MC-Bauchemie.

The car park was built at the strategically important intersection of Gheorghe-Doja Street and Salvării Street and is directly connected to the new outpatient building of the County Hospital via a pedestrian bridge. Across five levels, from the basement to the open-air parking decks, a total of 516 parking spaces are available, including 21 spaces for people with disabilities. The usage concept is complemented by several charging stations for electric vehicles and a generously sized roof area.
The aim of the project was to noticeably relieve inner-city traffic around the hospital and to make access more efficient for patients, visitors and medical staff. The City of Oradea financed the project entirely from the municipal budget. Despite inflation-related adjustments and additional works, the car park was completed within the revised schedule and put into operation in September 2025.
Car parks in a hospital environment place particularly high demands on planning and execution. In addition to continuous vehicle traffic, surfaces are permanently exposed to moisture, de-icing salts and significant temperature fluctuations. In this project, the challenge was compounded by the need to execute both covered interior levels and a fully exposed roof terrace.
Another challenge lay in close coordination with other trades and the client’s requirement for a durable, low-maintenance solution. Especially in the sensitive hospital environment, downtime for maintenance should be kept to a minimum, so the materials used had to be designed for durability from the outset.
A key component for the long-term functionality of the car park was the execution of the floor areas with a high-performance epoxy resin system. MC-Bauchemie Romania supplied a system build-up based on MC-DUR 1320 VK and MC-DUR 1322, developed specifically for heavily trafficked areas.
The epoxy resin floor coating offers high mechanical load-bearing capacity under constant vehicle traffic and reliably protects the concrete surfaces against chemical influences such as oils, fuels and de-icing salts. At the same time, the system is resistant to freeze–thaw cycles and weathering – an essential advantage for the exposed roof terrace.
Application was carried out by Pardvest, an experienced specialist contractor from Oradea with extensive expertise in processing industrial resin flooring systems. The multi-layer system build-up enabled both slip-resistant properties and a uniform, easy-to-clean surface to be achieved. For the operator, this means reduced maintenance intervals and lower life-cycle costs.
Close technical coordination between Pardvest and MC-Bauchemie Romania ensured that the system build-up was precisely tailored to the project-specific requirements – from substrate preparation through to final sealing.
With the completion of the car park, Oradea now has a modern, high-performance parking infrastructure that sustainably supports hospital operations. The 516 additional parking spaces reduce search traffic, improve access to medical facilities and increase comfort for all user groups.
The MC-DUR epoxy resin systems used make a significant contribution to the durability of the structure. They protect the load-bearing elements, preserve surface integrity and ensure reliable use even under heavy loads – both indoors and on the roof terrace.
The project exemplifies how the combination of well-considered planning, qualified execution and high-performance construction chemical systems can create sustainable solutions for public infrastructure. For the City of Oradea, the car park represents another step towards accessible, resilient healthcare provision—and for MC-Bauchemie Romania, a compelling reference demonstrating expertise in car park and traffic area coating systems.
