New amphitheatre for the spa town of Wieniec-Zdrój in Poland
Poland
Between 2023 and 2025, the Wieniec-Zdrój Spa in central Poland expanded its medical and spa infrastructure to serve patients, local residents and visitors. A key part of the investment was the construction of a new amphitheatre with supporting facilities, designed to enhance the spa’s cultural and recreational offer.

The investment at Wieniec-Zdrój Spa combined healthcare, tourism and public infrastructure in a single development project. Alongside the new medical and spa facilities, the amphitheatre was planned as an attractive gathering place for events and cultural activities. Local companies were involved in the construction works. The general contractor was FIDEM from Dobrzyń nad Wisłą, while the precast concrete elements were manufactured and supplied by BUSZREM S.A. in Włocławek, with which MC-Bauchemie has maintained a close partnership for almost three decades. Based on this long-standing collaboration and extensive experience in precast concrete production, MC products were selected for the manufacture of the amphitheatre elements.
Meeting demanding quality and performance requirements
The project placed high demands on both the appearance and production efficiency of the precast concrete elements. The exposed surface of the amphitheatre stands required a particularly high-quality finish to achieve the desired visual appearance. At the same time, the production process demanded rapid early strength development to enable timely demoulding and maintain the planned manufacturing schedule. Balancing aesthetic requirements with fast production cycles required carefully selected admixtures and finishing materials. The challenge was to ensure excellent concrete workability while achieving the strength needed for efficient precast production without compromising surface quality.
Tailored admixture and finishing solution by MC
To meet these requirements, MC-Bauchemie proposed a solution based on the latest generation of concrete technology. A high-performance superplasticiser from the MC-PowerFlow series was used during precast production. The admixture provided excellent concrete flowability and placement characteristics while delivering the anticipated early strength development required for rapid demoulding. In addition, MC-Quicktop cosmetic filler was applied for the surface treatment of the precast elements. The mortar enabled the manufacturer to achieve a consistent, smooth and visually appealing finish specified for the amphitheatre components. The combination of optimised concrete performance and targeted surface refinement ensured that both technical and architectural expectations were fulfilled.
Reliable delivery and on-schedule project progress
The MC solution enabled BUSZREM to manufacture and deliver high-quality precast elements according to schedule. The combination of early strength development, efficient production processes and superior surface quality helped ensure that installation on site proceeded without delays.
As a result, the amphitheatre construction remained aligned with the overall project timeline, supporting the successful expansion of the Wieniec-Zdrój Spa. The project demonstrates how tailored admixture technology and finishing solutions can help precast producers meet demanding performance and aesthetic requirements while maintaining efficient production and reliable delivery schedules.
